On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus, the documenta archiv and the University of Kassel launched a joint project that, for the first time, reflects the two institutions Bauhaus and documenta in comparison. This virtual exhibition, the first ever mounted by the documenta archiv, is part of the project.

Under the title »How much Bauhaus is in documenta?« the project traces how the first four documenta exhibitions referred to the Bauhaus or were directly or indirectly influenced by it.

The most important participants, the institutions involved, the works exhibited, the understanding of art, and the visual identity of documenta are all examined. Continue reading...
